Volunteer and Community Appreciation Breakfast

Our annual Volunteer and Community Appreciation event brings together community organizations like the Sun City Elks lodge, government entities like the Surprise City Council, businesses in the area like National Bank of Arizona, school parent volunteers and any other individual or entity in between that has partnered with ACA in one way or another over the last year.

This year's theme was "Every day Hero's- What you do MATTERS!" Our community partnerships are an essential part of who we are at ACA. Our goal is to build relationships that support the mission of our school and many times our partners are able to meet needs of our students we wouldn't otherwise be able to. For example, the Surprise Lions club buys eye glasses for students unable to afford them after they volunteer for our annual vision/hearing screenings. This is just one example of the robust relationships we have with outside organizations that help to not only enrich the lives of our students but leads to a better overall community.

We were extremely honored to have Superintendent of Public Instruction Kathy Hoffman serve as the keynote speaker to our banquet this year. She spoke about moving Arizona schools forward and congratulated ACA on our A+ School of Excellence designation.

This year, we honored the following individuals/organizations with our annual awards:

Volunteer of the Year: ACA Parent Volunteer Karen Cassidy

Community Members of the Year: Gary Smith, Kenny Dobbs and Jacob DiMartino with Bully RAADR

Community Partner of the Year: WHAM
