Since August of last year (2017) a group of ACA Middle School students set their sights on taking a trip to Washington D.C. and have been working extremely hard fundraising and earning money to make their dreams a reality. This month, the students hard work payed off and they headed to our Nation's Capitol for the first time in their lives.
The vast majority of our students have never been to D.C., in fact most of them haven't ever been on airplane before. So it was a whole week of firsts!
The students itinerary included landmarks such as the Museum of Natural History, a powerful and emotional visit to The Holocaust Museum, Mount Vernon, Capitol Hill, a ghost tour of Alexandria, the DC Zoo and of course a visit to the White House. There may or may not have a been a trip to Georgetown for DC Cupcakes!
The students and staff chaperones had the time of their lives and made memories together that will lats a lifetime. Thank you to Mrs. Klenner and Mrs. Ramos for chaperoning our amazing students and showing them around our nation's Capitol.
We can't wait til next year!
