How does it work?
The Arizona Charter Academy Teacher Support Program has tracks for both teachers that are new to teaching and for experience educators.
- Monday morning Professional Development and PLC’s for all staff.
- Monday afternoon new teacher focused PD- 3 times a month.
- Differentiated professional development opportunities to meet you where you are at in your teaching career.
- Create a professional growth plan to further develop you as a professional and enable you to help every student progress.
- Weeklong workshop just for teachers new to ACA to help with strategies to be successful through the school year. PLUS 1 week with all returning teachers.
1-On-1 Mentoring
Every teacher that is a part of the Arizona Charter Academy Teacher Support Program has a 1-on-1 coach that serves as a mentor. They meet weekly and provide support through direct learning opportunities such as:
- Classroom observation
- Classroom set-up
- Classroom systems
- Classroom management
- Curriculum and content support
- Curriculum planning
- Differentiation
- Specialized support for instructional specialists
- Assessing and reporting
- Data analysis
- Professional communication
- Professional growth and evaluation support
- Emotional support
